| Location Lat 5° 30′ 27″ S Long 146° 2′ 23″ E Gum is located at sea level on the Rai Coast portion of the north coast of New Guinea. To the east is Bibi (Ribi) and beyond Yalau Plantation. To the northwest is Kul. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in Madang District in the Territory of New Guinea. Today, located in Astrolabe Bay Rural LLG, Rai Coast District of Madang Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Wartime History On March 5, 1944 U.S. Army Yalau Task Force made an amphibious landing at Yalau Plantation without opposition to the east of Bibi.
