USS DD-224 under tow to be expended as a target off San Francisco
The Japanese flag amidships reflects her 1943-1945 service in the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as Patrol Boat No. 102 (PB-102). Japanese radar antennas have been removed from atop the ship's pilothouse and abaft her foremast.
