Location Lat 9 02 S Long 149' 00E Porlock Harbor is located on the northern cost of New Guinea halfway between Tufi and Oro Bay. Also incorrectly spelled Port Lock in some sources. The harbor consists of a network of lagoons fringed by a coral reef at a depth of 16-22m. Ako is located on the western side of Porlock Harbor. Wartime History During late 1942, the U.S. Army occupied the Porlock Harbor area to support the Buna-Sanananda-Gona campaign. Anti-aircraft guns were emplaced at Cody's Point and living quarters were established nearby.
