Location
Lat 4° 20' 60S Long 152° 16' 0E Malapau is located on the Gazelle Peninsula at the northeastern tip of New Britain Island. Borders Blanche Bay to the north. To the southeast is Kokopo and to the northwest is Raluana Point. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the Territory of New Guinea. Today located in East New Britain Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Today connected by the Kokopo-Rabaul Road to Kokopo and beyond Rabaul.
