Location Lat 4° 25' 60S Long 152° 20' 60E Kabanga Bay is located on the eastern coast of the Gazelle Peninsula of New Britain. Pronounced "Kar-bunga Bay". Borders Kabanga. Borders St. Georges Channel further to the east. To the south is Warangoi Bay and further to the northwest is Rabaul. Today located in East New Britain Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Wartime History During 1942 until the end of the Pacific War occupied by the Japanese. Used by barges and small ships. During 1943-1944 U.S. aircraft flying from east overflew Kabanga Bay inbound or out of the Rabaul area. On March 5, 1944 attacked by P-40s and USN fighters that hit barges at Kabanga Bay.
