| Location Jomba Island is located about two miles southeast of Madang off the north coast of New Guinea. Also spelled Yomba Island. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of Madang District in the Territory of New Guinea Today located in Madang Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG). P-40N Kittyhawk A29-523 Pilot Stirling MIA January 27, 1944 after an aerial collision crashed into the sea. P-40N "Ishkabibble" A29-530 Pilot Hunt crashed January 27, 1944 after an aerial collision crashed on the western side of Jomba Island.
