Location
The Huon Peninsula is located on the north coast of New Guinea. The Huon Peninsula includes Includes the Saruwaged Range, Finisterre Range (Finisterres) and Cromwell Range. On the southwestern coast is Lae. On the the eastern coast is Finschafen and on the northern coast is Sio. Borders the Huon Gulf to the south and Vitiaz Strait to the east. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the Territory of New Guinea. Today part of Morobe Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
