TUESDAY, 21 APRIL 1942
AVG: At 9:30am P-40s intercepted a reported ten fighters which had just attacked Namsang Airfield; one of these was claimed damaged by Flight Leader Tom Jones 15 miles south of Pyawbwe.
Burma: Japanese overtake Ch 6th Army at Hopong. Ch 49th Div is moving quickly W as ordered, and elements are committed in Mong Pawn-Loilem region.
5th Air Force: Lost is B-25C 41-12486 pilot 2nd Lt John J. Keeter, Jr. (KIA) returning from a search mission in heavy clouds crashed atop Mount Bartle Frere near the summit.
