Ship History
No. 26 Nanshin Maru was a guardboat (picket boat) used by the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN).

Wartime History

On April 18, 1942 operating east of Japan when damaged by U.S. Navy carrier planes from USS Enterprise (CV-6) striking picket boats near Task Force 16 (TF 16).

Sinking History
On April 19, 1942 scuttled by gunfire from light cruiser Kiso at roughly Lat 37°12'N Long 151°15'E.

Naval History and Heritage Command (NHHC) - Japanese Naval and Merchant Shipping Losses does not list No. 26 Nanshin Maru, only another vessel with that name sunk October 12, 1944
