Location
Lat 3° 3' S Long 142° 5' E Sissano Lagoon is located on the north coast of New Guinea. To the southeast is Aitape. Today located in the Aitape-Lumi District of West
Sepik Province in Papua
New Guinea (PNG). On July 17, 1998 an offshore earthquake generated a tsunami that hit 19km of coastline including the length of Sissano Lagoon.
