3° 12' 0S Long 151° 52' 0E Kimadan is located on Cape Lemeris on the north coast of New Ireland. Also know as "Malom 1". Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the Territory of New Guinea. Today located in Sentral Niu Ailan Rural of Kavieng District in New Ireland Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
Wartime History
Kimadan was occupied by the Japanese and used as a base area until Septrmber 1945.
