| Location Rabi village is located eastern New Guinea bordering Milne Bay along the main road (Route 5) on the southeast tip of New Guinea. To the west is Rabi (Rabe). Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Eastern District of the Territory of Papua. Today located in Milne Bay Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Wartime History At the start of the Battle of Milne Bay, KB Mission was defended by the Australian Army 2/10 Battalion. On August 27, 1942 after dark, Japanese forces including the SNLF advanced to the eastern edge of KB Mission and assaulted the area.
