Location Bayern Bay borders the southern side of Salamaua on the north coast of New Guinea inside Huon Gulf. To the north is Salamaua and beyond Salamaua Harbor (Samoa Harbor). To the southwest on the mainland is Logui, Nuk Nuk and Salamaua Airfield (Logui Strip No 2). To the southeast is Laupui Point. Prewar located in the Morobe District in Territory of New Guinea.
