Location
Ousassio Hill is located near Nouméa and Tontouta Airfield in the South Province in New Caledonia. After the crash of R4D-1 01981 on October 9, 1942 the feature was renamed Kimball Hill (Mount Kimball or Mt. Kimball) in honor of pilot U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) Major Walter F. Kimball killed in the crash.
