Location
Lat 3° 38' 60S Long 133° 45' 0E Kaimana village is located on the southern coast of New Guinea. To the northwest is Utarom bordering Kaimana Bay.
Prewar and during the Pacific War located in Dutch New Guinea (DNG) in the Netherlands East Indies (NEI). Today located in West Papua Province (Papua Barat) in Indonesia.

Anchorage along Kaimana Bay . Used by the Japanese Navy during April to August 1943. Cruiser Kitakami disembarks troops and supplies at at Kaimana on April 7 and 27, then again on May 12, 1943.
