Also known as Kampong Pelauw or Pelau. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Netherlands East Indies (NEI). Today located in Maluku Province (Moluccas Islands) in Indonesia. To the north is Seram Island (Ceram Island). Wartime History During 1942, occupied by the Japanese during their occupation of Netherlands East Indies (NEI). Starting in December 1943 until December 1944 attacked by Allied bombers and fighters. Occupied by the Japanese until the official surrender of Japan in September 1945.
