Location The Gulf of Boni borders southern Sulawesi (Celebes) between the South Peninsula and Southeast Peninsula and to the south connects to the Banda Sea. Also known as Bono Bay, Bay of Boni, Bone Bay or Gulf of Bone. Prewar and during the Pacific War known as Celebes Island and was part of the Netherlands East Indies (NEI).
