Sorol Atoll is located in Yap State in the Federated States of Micronesia. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the Caroline Islands.

During the Pacific War, occupied by the Japanese who established a radio station at this location. Occupied by the Japanese until the official surrender of Japan.
