Location
Mariyang Island is located to the west of in Woleai Atoll in Yap State in the Federated States of Micronesia (Caroline Islands). Wartime spelling "Mariaon Island". Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean. To the east is Woleai Island (Falalap, Oleai). To the southeast is East Lagoon. To the southwest is Taugalap Island (Tagaulap).

Occupied by the Japanese who estabished a weather station on the island.
