| Location British Columbia Province is the westernmost province of Canda. Abbreviated "BC". To the south is the international border with the United States of America. Borders Alaska to the west and northwest, Washington State to the south, Idaho and Montana to the southeast, Alberta Province to the east and Yukon Territory to the north. To the west is the North Pacific Ocean including offshore islands including Vancouver Island. Wartime History During World War II, British Columbia was an important link in supplying the American forces in Alaska and defending the Pacific northwest. On January 14, 1942 in British Columbia a 100 mile security zone is declared and all men of Japanese ancestry between the ages of 18-45 are ordered to vacate.
