| Location Tabanio is located on the southeastern coast of Borneo. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the Netherlands East Indies (NEI). Today located in South Kalimantan Province (Kalimantan Timur) in Indonesia. Wartime History Occupied by the Japanese. Starting in late April 1945 attacked by American bombers and fighters until late July 1945.
