Strait Islands (Torres Straits) in the Torres
Strait in Queensland in Australia. To the north is Kaumag Island and beyond the international border with Papua New Guinea (PNG) and the southern coast of New Guinea that is part of Western Province (Fly).

During the Pacific War, two Australian wireless operators
operated on Saibai Island.
