Aircraft History
Built by Curtiss in Buffalo, New York. Assigned U.S. Army serial number P-40M Warhawk 43-5866. Disassembled and shipped overseas to Australia and reassembled.

Wartime History
On April 19, 1943, delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Kittyhawk A29-366. Assigned to No. 76 Squadron with code SV-U. Nicknamed "Mischif" with the nose art of a nude woman. Assigned to pilot F/O Milton Mervyn Furze, 13407.

This P-40 flew at least thirty combat missions. On March 19, 1944 sent to 1 Repair & Salvage Unit (1 RSU) with unknown damage and returned to the squadron shortly afterwards.

On February 15, 1945 received by 22 Repair & Salvage Unit (22 RSU) for an engine change. On April 2, 1945 sent to 2 Operational Training Unit (2 OTU). On October 22, 1945 this aircraft was at Oakey Airfield and was authorized for write off on November 19, 1946.

Restoration
This aircraft is under restoration at Precision Aerospace / Precision Airmotive and offered for sale by Platinum Fighter Sales for A$ 795,000.
